HUC Finder - provides a quick way to identify the 8, 10, and 12-digit Hydrologic Unit Code (HUC) for any point in Indiana. The 8, 11 and 14-digit HUCs in the older system are also provided, for reference between the two systems.
Watershed Group Finder - helps you find active watershed groups anywhere in Indiana. (it is not all that easy).
To begin, click on the Finder button you would like to use. Specific instructions on how to use each tool will be provided.
Indiana HUC Finder
This site provides a quick way to identify the 8, 10, and 12-digit Hydrologic Unit Code (HUC) for any point in Indiana. The 11 and 14-digit HUCs in the older system are also provided, for reference between the two systems.
Instructions: Click on any point. The map will zoom in, so that the point is unambiguous. Click a second time and the HUC numbers will be displayed, both in the new system (HUC 8, 10, 12) and the old system (HUC 11 and 14).
Indiana Watershed Group Finder
Background: The Indiana Watershed Group Finder helps you find watershed groups anywhere in Indiana. "Watershed groups" are defined as anyone actively working with a watershed focus, including watershed-focused organizations (such as Friends of the St. Joe River or Wabash River Enhancement Corporation), and also projects through SWCDs (such as Washington County SWCD Mill Creek-Blue River Watershed Project).

Download your watershed delineation as a shapefile or KML: Once you have located your watershed and have displayed the information balloon on the map, click on a HUC code within the balloon to get the option to download the watershed outline as either a shapefile or KML to use in your GIS software.
